The National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China is a component department of the State Council, established in March 2018. Its predecessor was the National Health and Family Planning Commission. The National Health Commission is responsible for implementing the guidelines, policies, and decisions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China regarding health and wellness work. In the process of fulfilling its duties, it upholds and strengthens the centralized and unified leadership of the Party over health and wellness work.
