The List of Fragrance Allergens in Cosmetic Products compiles fragrance allergens present in cosmetic products, formulated in accordance with the EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, its Annex III (List of Substances Restricted for Use in Cosmetic Products) and relevant EU regulations.
This list includes 81 types of fragrance allergens which also specifies the chemical name/INN, Name of Common Ingredients Glossary, CAS number, EC number, Product type and body parts, Maximum concentration in ready for use preparation and Other restrictions.
Regulatory Implications of the List of Fragrance Allergens in Cosmetic Products
When the concentration of these fragrance allergens contained in a product exceeds 0.001% for leave-on products and 0.01% for rinse-off products, each such allergen shall be listed individually in the ingredient section of the product label. Pursuant to transitional period provisions, enterprises shall complete compliant labelling for new products by 31 July 2026, while rectification of existing products must be finished no later than 31 July 2028.
Cosmetics placed on the EU market must declare these fragrance allergens on product labels to guarantee product safety and regulatory compliance.
