Starting March 1, 2026, a total of 12 cosmetic testing methods have been officially implemented in China. CIRS Group has summarized them for reference.
1. As of March 1, 2026, the following methods which have been added to the "Cosmetics Safety and Technical Standards (2015 Edition)" have benn officially implemented:
- Determination of Hard Particles in Toothpaste
- Determination of Diethylene Glycol and Glycol in Toothpaste
- Determination of Soluble/Free Fluoride in Toothpastes
- Determination of Total Fluoride in Toothpaste
- In Chemico Skin Sensitisation The ARE-Nrf2 Luciferase LuSens Test
Additionally, the revised methods include:
- Determination of Li and 42 Kinds of Elements in Cosmetics
- Determination of Li and 42 Kinds of Elements in Toothpaste
2. As of March 1, 2026, the following methods which have been added to the "Cosmetics Safety and Technical Standards (2015 Edition)" have benn officially implemented:
- In Chemico Skin Sensitisation: Kinetic Direct Peptide Reactivity Assay (kDPRA)
- Skin Absorption: In vitro Method
- Bovine Corneal Opacity and Permeability (BCOP) Assay
- Immunotoxicity Test
- Oral Mucous Irritation Test

As of March 1, 2026, testing methods mentioned above have been offically implemented. Companies should update their compliance practices accordingly to align with these new standards.
