On April 1, 2026, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of South Korea officially announced the launch of the "Cosmetic Safety Assessment Support Program”. This program aims to recruit 1,500 small and medium-sized cosmetic responsible sales companies nationwide and provide them with professional consulting services. The South Korean government plans to phase in mandatory cosmetic safety assessments starting in 2028. The application period for interested companies is from April 1 to April 30, 2026, with results to be announced in mid-May 2026.
Recruitment Targets
This year's recruitment targets are small and medium-sized cosmetic responsible sales companies lacking specialized assessment personnel and experience, totaling 1,500 companies. Specifically, the focus is on medium-sized and small enterprises with an annual output value of less than 1 billion KRW, as well as companies dealing in functional cosmetics and cosmetics for infants and children.
Detailed Process

The program is entrusted to and executed by the Korea Pharmaceutical Traders Association. It aims to provide one-on-one expert consultation services to companies selected through public recruitment. The services include:
- Interpretation of regulations related to cosmetic safety assessments
- Establishment of safety assessment systems
- Preparation of safety assessment reports and other professional support
