Based on data retrieved from China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), twelve new cosmetic ingredients have been filed between April 14 and April 20, 2026. Detailed information is provided in the table below. At present, the associated technical specifications have not been made public, and the ingredient has not yet entered the post-filing monitoring period. As of now in 2026, a total of 67 new cosmetic ingredients have been filed.

Interpretation of Information on New Cosmetic Ingredient
According to available information, Cyphomandra betacea is a shrubby plant of the Solanaceae family and genus Cyphomandra. Originating from South America, it has been introduced and cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide, as well as in Yunnan and southern Xizang of China. As an edible and medicinal fruit and vegetable, it is traditionally used to stimulate appetite, aid digestion, clear away heat and detoxify, and relieve oral ulcers, sore throats and other discomforts.
Dihydroxyphenethyl alcohol, also known as Hydroxytyrosol, is a natural polyphenol compound. It is mainly found in olive leaves and olive oil, and features favorable liposolubility, water solubility and antioxidant activity. Hydroxytyrosol (CAS No. 10597-60-1) is currently included in the EU CosIng Database, with approved functions as a skin whitening agent and skin conditioner. To date, this ingredient has been filed for six times by different filers at separate time points.
Nitraria tangutorum is a shrub belonging to the Nitrariaceae family and Nitraria genus. It is named so for its white branches and thorny tips.It is widely distributed across northern Shaanxi, western Inner Mongolia, Hexi Corridor of Gansu and other regions in China, commonly growing in desert and semi-desert habitats including lacustrine basins, river terraces, piedmont sandy plains and wind-deposited clay lands.
Nitraria tangutorum possesses multiple edible and medicinal values. Studies have shown that its fruits contain a wide variety and high content of nutrients and active ingredients. The seed oil is mainly composed of unsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic acid, linolenic acid and arachidonic acid, among which linoleic acid accounts for as high as 65%–70%. In addition, the above-ground parts of Nitraria tangutorum are rich in alkaloids, presenting high potential for further development and utilization.
