The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) of Japan has established the List of Ingredients Prohibited in Cosmetic Products under the Standards for Cosmetics, which clearly specifies substances that must not be added to cosmetic products in order to ensure consumer safety. This list includes chemical substances that are toxic, irritating, allergenic, or pose potential health risks.

The list includes 30 ingredients prohibited to use, each accompanied by detailed information such as the Ingredient Name, INCI Name and CAS Number.
