On February 27, 2026, the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risk (COFEPRIS) of Mexico issued a sub-email notification authorization form, establishing email as the formal medium for the agency to issue notifications and requests, with the aim of enhancing service quality and response efficiency.

Detailed Information

Verified by the digital transformation and telecommunications authority (ATDT), this measure is intended to strengthen customer service and effectively reduce the backlog of unfinished procedures. By consolidating the digitization of processes and communication channels, this initiative provides legal certainty for regulated industries.

Forms applicable to all COFEPRIS procedures can be accessed at the following website: https://www.gob.mx/cofepris, under the "Procedures and Services" section in the "Forms" option: https://www.gob.mx/cofepris/acciones-y-programas/formatos-vigentes.

In applications submitted to COFEPRIS, applicants (whether individuals, legal entities, or authorized representatives) must demonstrate their legal identity and accept the designated email as the formal means of notification. This email will serve as proof or confirmation of the notification.

Importance of the Measure

This measure strengthens the digital transformation process, aiming to establish a more flexible and transparent regulatory model, thereby enhancing public health for the people of Mexico.
